Telltale Games announces new Batman series Revealed at The Game Awards 2015

From Telltale Games

Telltale Games revealed a teaser trailer for a previously unannounced Batman series at The Game Awards 2015 on December 3. The series has no set release date, but the trailer states it will begin in 2016.

Soon after, the independent game developer, best known for their episodic series such as The Walking Dead and Wolf Among Us, released an official blog post detailing the game’s development alongside Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment. Regarding platforms, they confirmed it would be available on Mac and PC, as well as “mobile devices”. Console releases were not announced alongside, but they post also specified “platform details are yet to be announced”.

While the trailer did not show actual gameplay or release casting information, it did hint at some of the themes within. Telltale CEO Kevin Bruner was quoted as stating “This iteration of Batman will give fans a first-hand opportunity to dive deeper into the complex life and mind of Bruce Wayne, the duality of his own identity, and the struggle of responsibility in saving a city overcome with corruption and villainy.” This was followed by David Haddad, President of Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment stating that they “look forward to working with the team” at Telltale.

This announcement also comes less than a year after Telltale announced they would be developing a series with Marvel and only a few weeks after finishing the first “season” of their Game of Thrones series.
